We are delighted to have been ranked #13 in Best Workplace Ireland 2016, in the medium-sized workplace category. This is especially pleasing because it is the first time we have entered the Great Place to Work award programme.
The Best Workplaces awards are decided by the results of an independent, anonymous survey completed by staff from hundreds of organisations. Employers are rated on various topics ranging from work culture, management practice, compensation and benefits, trust in leaders and colleagues and perception of being valued. It is not possible for any organisation to be included for a Great Place to Work award unless a clear majority of their employees consider their organisation to be a great workplace.
"It is a privilege to be recognised as a Best Workplace in Ireland," said Marcus Ryu, chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. "Guidewire has made a major investment in our Dublin office, and its professional staff, of almost 200, have become indispensable to both our software development and implementation work for our global customer base. I am grateful for their contribution to our mission, as well as our Ireland HR team, who have worked assiduously to make this office a fun and professionally fulfilling place to invest one's career."
"The hardest part of growing a product development and services centre is making sure we build the right team," said Niall Lalor, practice director, distributed consulting, Guidewire Software. "There is always pressure to hire, especially in an expanding organisation and a competitive job market. It’s by getting the culture right and by finding people who share our values, that we’ve been successful. Our team understands this, and I’m delighted to see that the honest, anonymous feedback of my colleagues supports that conclusion."
While the Great Place to Work survey is completed by employees anonymously, we do see the comments made by our staff and we would like to share a selection:
"Guidewire is unusual in the fact that the team here actually live the values of the organisation. It’s not just a by-line or part of corporate mission statement. People are empowered, to be a full and whole part of the team."
"The people in Guidewire make this a unique place to work."
"Management truly gives us all the opportunities we need to grow, not only within the organisation, but within ourselves. Constant attention is given to our personal and professional growth. Whilst a lot of responsibility is easily given, a lot of support is provided too. Truly feel like I'm working with the managers, not for them."
